Flexible Flatstock Moulding for DIY Enthusiasts

Duraflex Flexible Moulding is moisture proof and can bend like a belt. It can withstand extreme heat and cold temperatures without warping, cracking, or deteriorating. The seamless construction ensures there are no lamination defects. This product is suitable for both interior and exterior use and can be installed using standard woodworking equipment – cut, sand, shape, and finish like wood. The material is beige in color and is designed for applications with a minimum radius of 6" or greater. We recommend using polyurethane construction adhesive for fastening behind and at miter joints, in addition to pneumatic pin nailing. It may be helpful to use tape or clamps to secure the material in position while the adhesives bond. Always install Flexible Moulding first in a relaxed non-tensile state and keep nails to a minimum, 3/8” from any edge. For the best results, we recommend using Loctite PL Premium Polyurethane Construction Adhesive.

Material can be cut, shaped, and sanded using standard woodworking equipment. Please note that the wood grain on Stain grade material is only on the surface and will be eliminated if sanded. When painting, primer coats are not recommended. It is best to use water-based Acrylic Latex Paint. If using Alkyd Enamels, an exterior primer such as Kilz is required and additional drying time may be necessary. Never paint before installation as the material is flexible and the paint may crack during installation.
